Installing a Window Air Conditioner
Installing an air
conditioner into your window is relatively easy and straight forward. Before we
get started, let's make sure the following things are ready. If it helps, you
can make a checklist to make sure you are ready to begin putting your new air
conditioner purchase in.
- Measure the size of
your window and the air conditioner to make sure it will fit.
- Make sure you have
the support brackets/wood ready to place your air conditioner on. Most windows
will be too big or awkward to simply place the air conditioner. You will need
to have a piece of supporting wood, and in some cases, brackets to hold the
wood together to the window frame.
- Be sure you have a
clear path to where the air conditioner is going. Clean the space around the
area first, to ensure you don't trip on anything when putting in your AC.
- After the air
conditioner is mounted in the window, make sure it's secure and upright.
